Mafalda, My Heroine

Sixty years is a milestone worth celebrating: a group of women creators pays tribute to an undisputed icon of the comic book world!

For sixty years, Mafalda has been interpreting the world through the eyes of a child! With her innocence, she has never stopped exposing injustices and pointing out the absurdities of our societies. Rebellious, sharp-witted and slightly idealistic, this anti-authoritarian and feminist figure has left her mark on generations of readers and continues to inspire us.

To celebrate the birthday of our young heroine, who hasn't aged a day, a group of talented creators pays her a heartfelt tribute through an original and extraordinary album.

But what if Mafalda were transported into our own time? What would she say about the state of our planet and its problems, household chores, gender equality, poverty, animal welfare, or even our politicians?

Around ten women comic artists, each with her own distinctive artistic style, have been given complete creative freedom to reinterpret the character in their own way, through longer stories or short comic strips.

Each of them presents a Mafalda…
